At Bridge Street Vets we know your pets are part of your family and our priority is, and always will be, to ensure they have access to the very best care, no matter what time of day or night it is. For this reason, we have decided to partner with Vets Now, a dedicated pet emergency service which provides expert pet emergency care when we are closed.
Vets Now is the pet equivalent of an accident and emergency service and the leading provider of pet emergency care in the UK! Their veterinary teams are specially trained in emergency and critical care and work only out of hours, through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays. That means they are ready and waiting to see you and your pet, whether it’s in the early hours of the morning or halfway through Sunday lunch. This level of staffing means your pet will get direct supervision throughout their stay from the dedicated night teams. A video consultation is also an option, so if you’re unsure whether you need to travel to the emergency vets, or you just want some advice, a vet is able to see you from the comfort of your home for only £24. If this vet then thinks it’s necessary for your pet to receive treatment with them during our closing times, the price of the video consult will be refunded.
Furthermore, here at Bridge Street Vets, we are still the only Cat Friendly Accredited Clinic in Driffield and our new partners at Vets Now also share this standard of feline care! We are excited to be able to offer this continuity of our training and handling techniques when we are closed.
During our normal opening hours, there will be no change in our service. We will continue to provide you and your pet with the highest standards of veterinary care. We are a team focused on delivering continuity of care and always endeavour to achieve the best medical treatment possible carefully tailored to your pet’s individual needs. Luckily, last year only 2.71% of our registered clients needed to use our out of hours service at Bridlington, this reassuring statistic demonstrates the rarity of you needing to use this extended emergency service. Further to this, for stable patients that have undergone extensive surgery and may need additional pain relief, or for patients that are just needing to be rehydrated on fluids overnight, we can still keep them in our clinic with appropriate nursing care overnight.
This change to our emergency coverage will come into effect on the 1st March 2023. To ensure you and your pet receive consistent care, Vets Now will have access to your pet’s clinical history to ensure they are able to provide the best level of treatment according to your pet’s individual needs and previous medical history. We have leaflets with directions and a map for your convenience in practice. Vets Now branch location info is available here: https://www.vets-now.com/find-an-emergency-vet/hull/
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you and your pet in practice very soon. If you have any concerns, please email our Practice Manager, Amy Winter at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are happy to discuss any concerns you may have and hopefully put your mind at ease!
