Bridge Street Vets Reception

Our premises have been built with your convenience in mind at all times.

Access to the practice car park is along the side of the building by the stream if you’re in luck you may get a fleeting glimpse of the Kingfisher. This provides a well enclosed and safe environment when removing your pets from the car and gives them the opportunity for a comfort break, if needed, on our well kept lawn.

Automatic doors make for easy access, especially if you are carrying a pet carrier or being dragged in by a boisterous pet.

Bridge Street Vets ShopOnce in the reception area you will be greeted by our friendly reception staff who will deal with any enquiry you may have. The reception area is bright and spacious with low level dividing walls maintaining the open plan feel. In addition there is a small separate waiting area for further peace of mind with nervous or sensitive dogs and cats, or for clients who wish to have a little time to themselves.

Just to the rear of reception is the ‘Pet’s Place’ shop which is stocked with a range of hand picked pet accessories, toys, dog and cat beds, collars and leads as well as our Virbac premium food range which is unique in its manufacturing process as all the individual ingredients are cooked to perfection before being formed into a small pellet then coated in duck fat, meaning that each component provides the best and most palatable nutrition available.

The two consulting rooms are spacious and light with hydraulically operated consulting tables to make it easy to get larger dogs up to a comfortable working height.

Our separate dispensary allows our nurses the opportunity to prepare repeat prescriptions once they have been authorised by the vet without interrupting a consultation. We will happily provide repeat prescriptions whilst you wait but if you give advanced notice we can have the medication ready for you when you arrive.

Natural light is a feature of all the rooms in the building, including the animal wards, providing a pleasant peaceful environment to be in.

The spacious clinical area to the rear of the building is laid out around a large preparation room with doors leading off to;

  • the dog ward with large kennels including a purpose built walk-in glass fronted enclosure for giant breeds
  • the quiet cat ward has spacious insulated cages with double aspect daylight
  • fully certified radiography suite with high quality digital developing
  • self contained fully equipped operating theatre
  • Separate isolation ward to segregate any animals which may be carrying contagious conditions allowing us to separate them from those coming in for elective surgery.
  • Utility room with washer and drier to ensure all pets receive clean bedding when staying with us.

To complete our facilities the rear door leads to the garden which allows us to safely take dogs out to stretch their legs in the sunshine and have a sniff around.
